Meet Jimme Lyn Our Club Manager and Learn Why Yoga Is Her Go-to

Every program, event and class at Allegria is artfully designed by our staff and catered to our beautiful community and incredible members. As we enter one of our busiest times of the year, we thought you should meet the woman behind so many of those efforts, Jimme Lyn Gatz. Jimme is new to the Valley, moving here in the summer of 2017, but since then she has jumped in head first and brought her incomparable energy.

With an unapologetic love for the mountains and summertime, Jimme Lyn loves to hit the trails. One of her favorite memories here in the Vail Valley is taking on the Berry Picker trail and enjoying the views while riding the gondola down the mountain. She has also found the hiking trails near Piney Lake to be amongst her favorites. When she takes a well-deserved break, you will likely find her at The Rose enjoying their delicious fare. Transitioning into winter, Jimme plans to hit the ski slopes and learn how to ski again after a taking a break for a few years.

Yoga Is More Than Fitness
While Jimme’s role is primarily administrative, she brings with her a background in dance, yoga and a general love for fitness. Both disciplines provide a wealth of knowledge that Jimme is proud of and incorporates into her life and work on a daily basis. Jimme was first introduced to yoga as a dancer, but what started as a supplementary way to cross-train eventually became her go-to. Now as a certified yoga instructor, yoga is her go-to for more than just fitness. “Yoga not only offers a full-body workout, but it also offers a connection to your mind and body like no other exercise,” says Jimme.

Her training and instruction have given her wonderful experiences such as being able to lead a group of 80 people on the Fourth of July on one of Lake Superior’s boardwalks and taught her the powerful lesson to “be still, take a breath and trust yourself.” Yoga is rewarding and can be gratifying in many ways, but even Jimme acknowledges it is not something that will always come without challenge. “Be patient with yourself. As with anything, it takes times.” Reminding us that the journey can often be enjoyed more than the outcome.

Summed up into a few words Jimme advises us to “Live in the moment, step out of your comfort zone and always move forward,” and we are excited to have her as a part of Allegria’s team.

Next time you are at the Club at Allegria, keep an eye out for Jimme. She will be around managing our operations and occasionally teaching a class here and there. Also, if you are interested in membership at The Club at Allegria, Jimme is the best contact to answer your questions.
